The Conference People (TCP) are an experienced team of event organisers offering venue finding services to UK businesses. TCP work with clients to find them venues for conferences, meetings, dinners, AGM’s and much more.

TCP appointed Sugar to give their site a refresh. Along with a brand redevelopment by CCImagine we came up with a site design that reflects the exciting, dynamic nature of the event industry. Using vibrant reds and pinks the design helps to showcase the services and highlight some of the amazing venues the TCP team have in their portfolio.

The new home page features a fun video sequence along with a scrolling carousel that shows off some of the venues TCP have used for client events. This sequence is easy to update, so moving forward new venues can be added to the display.

The old TCP website had a “capacity calculator” which allowed prospective clients to estimate what type of space they would need for their event. We brought this feature across from the old site, but give it an update with new graphics and a CTA modal that keeps the visitor on the screen.

Technical Notes

As with many of the sites we build at the moment we used Bootstrap for the framework.  The main plugins for this project included Gravity Forms and the Stackable for managing carousels and layouts.

WordPress Experts

At Sugar we made a bet on WordPress back in version 2. At the time it was just another CMS option out there, without the impact it enjoys years later. We’re thankful to the amazing community that keeps this Open Source project going.

Extending WordPress

WordPress plugins allow us to extend the functionality available. These are a few that we use regularly.
