Panela is available as an
organic product and full test certification is available.
Natural Panela
Natural panela is produced from
sugar cane using modern growing methods which are the most widely
used throughout the Valle Region.
Natural Panela is produced by the
majority of trapiches in Colombia but is not certified as an
organic product.
Other than the farming methods used
to produce the crop, which may include the use of fertilisers and
pesticides, there is no difference in the manufacturing process of
the panela.
The Panela International Sugar
Corporation represents a number of manufacturers in Colombia who
produce very high quality panela products which are consumed
throughout the region and account for the exceptionally low number
of dentists who practise in the Valle de Cauca. |
