Situated in the heart of the Valle de Cauca in Colombia, this tranquil farm nestles beside the river Bugalagrande. The whole area teems with wildlife of every description to such an extent that a nature reserve is being created on the borders of the farm in the small town of Andalucia.
Sugar cane is the principal crop, and this land is considered one of the most fertile in the world.

Sugar cane is still cut by hand in a time honored and traditional manner. Although they cannot be seen there were over 450 men cutting cane at the time that this photograph was taken.
